San Francisco International Airport – This airport is the most familiar to travelers World Wide.  That is probably why it is the most congested, most traveled and most time consuming of the three airports located in the “Bay Area”.

• Personally I do not like to travel this airport unless absolutely necessary.  Where most airports you can arrive 90 minutes before your flight, you should honestly plan for 2 ½ to 3 hours to get your rental car returned, checked-in and up to your gate.
• The drive to San Francisco area can take up to 6 hours if you hit traffic or an accident; which is unfortunately a common occurrence.  So please plan accordingly if you travel through SFO.
• This is a beautiful city and there is so much to do.  If you plan on visiting, then this may be the airport to fly in and out of!
• All Domestic AND International Carriers fly into SFO.
